An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the External Relations Events Team at Lancaster University as we are looking for a Student Recruitment Events Assistant to support the Student Ambassador Programme, Campus and City Tours and the wider support of in-person and online student recruitment events. Working closely with the Student Staff Manager, you will provide proactive operational support in all areas of the programme's daily running.

Student Ambassadors at Lancaster University play a crucial role in representing the university community to prospective students, their families, and other stakeholders. As enthusiastic and knowledgeable advocates, they engage in various outreach activities, including campus tours, open days, and virtual events, to share their positive experiences and insights about academic and student life. You will also work with the Student Recruitment Event Officer who leads on Campus and City Tours, supporting the organisation and development of these events. This role gives you the opportunity to gain experience of working in a busy events team whilst helping to shape the future of the Student Ambassador Programme and Campus and City Tours.

The workload is varied and will require the ability to work effectively with all key stakeholders, internal and external to the University, including students, departmental contacts, colleagues in each faculty and external partners.

Key responsibilities:
  • Have strong organisational skills and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be a self-motivated team player and also be able to work on your own.
  • Have experience in providing administrative support to a high standard in a busy and varied office environment.
  • Have experience in Microsoft Office packages.
