Lancaster University Facilities Service Delivery Division has a temporary vacancy for a part time van driver. Facilities manage all property services on behalf of the University, including cleaning, landscaping, security, accommodation, hospitality, sport, capital development and general maintenance of the estate. Our vision is to make campus an inspiring place to be. We set the bar high and are working together to create the best University campus in the UK. We are committed to creating a welcoming environment for all staff, students and visitors from around the world.
Duties will include:
- The issuing/receiving and control of cleaning consumables
- Providing a delivery service around campus for Service Delivery and other teams within Facilities
- Contact with cleaning supervisors, other university staff, students, contractors and suppliers
- Completing any cleaning duties, as and when required
A current driving license is essential. You should be hard working, reliable and possess excellent customer service skills. Experience is essential and you should be working in a similar environment, achieving high standards, able to work on your own initiative and have a flexible approach and attitude to solving day to day problems. Knowledge and/or a relevant qualification in health and safety is desirable and you should be prepared to undertake further training and development.
You must be educated to at least Functional Skills level 1 in English and Maths, which is equivalent to GCSE Grade D - G. The hours are 12.5 per week, working on Thursdays and Fridays with an 8am start and 3pm finish.
