This is an exciting opportunity for a post‑doctoral researcher to join an EPSRC‑funded project focused on the cybersecurity of digital medical devices. As a Senior Research Associate (Grade 7), you will contribute to impactful research that addresses vital challenges in health technology security. This full‑time position is offered for 18 months, beginning September/October 2026, with a starting salary from £39,906.
In this role you will:
- Collaborate closely with computer science, cybersecurity, and medical science experts and with clinical partners in the NHS and the medical device industry.
- Identify cybersecurity vulnerabilities in digital medical devices used within the health service.
- Develop innovative technological solutions to secure these devices.
To be eligible you should have or expect to acquire a good undergraduate degree and a PhD (or equivalent experience) and experience in one or more of the following areas: embedded systems, wireless communication systems (including Bluetooth-based communications), secure cyber systems, IoT and/or software engineering. Experience of medical technologies and/or cybersecurity is an advantage; practical experience working with embedded systems and their wireless communications is also advantageous.
