Research Associate – Semiconductor Optoelectronics
Lancaster University is seeking a highly motivated researcher to work on a European project aiming to create compact and highly sensitive photonic‑electronic chips capable of detecting chemical and biological substances in real time. The project is funded by the EU HORIZON programme in collaboration with ten partners from seven countries.
Qualifications
- PhD in a relevant field (including those who have submitted but not yet received their PhD, who will initially be appointed as research assistant – Grade5 and promoted to research associate – Grade6 upon award).
- Postdoctoral experience with expertise in optoelectronic devices and photonic integration.
- Experience in III‑V compound device processing, semiconductor epitaxy, and optics.

- Salary: Fixed‑term contract; Grade6 upon PhD award.
