Under the supervision of the co-investigators at Lancaster (Professor Carol Holland, Dr Caroline Swarbrick, Professor Ceu Mateus, with further input from other network members), the key activities of the Research Associate will be to conduct five Rapid Evidence Reviews (using appropriate systematic methods, e.g. Garritty, et al, 2021). All reviews will include international literature and will scope beyond current knowledge of dementia and employment to understand the potential lessons/implications of how people with dementia and other neurodegenerative conditions are supported in the workplace.
Each evidence review will identify, collate, review and synthesise all relevant information to a high standard and present the findings in a clear and accessible format. The findings of each rapid review will produce an evidence review in an accessible form, reviewed within our lived experience panel and stakeholder advisory group and published on the Network website. Where appropriate, academic publications will be prepared. The evidence reviews will serve as the ‘go to’ resource for Network members in the UK and internationally working to collaboratively develop research teams and projects addressing the key issues related to working with dementia.
You will have a PhD in Health Research, Public Health or a relevant applied social sciences discipline, or a Masters level degree plus equivalent research experience. You will have experience of conducting and writing literature reviews to a high standard. Experience of liaising with people who may be experiencing cognitive impairment or caring for those living with dementia will be an advantage. It would also be advantageous to have knowledge and/or experience within the project’s relevant topic areas such as dementia, workplace organisation and interventions, and ageing in the workplace. The post may involve travel within the UK.

You will join Lancaster University on an indefinite contract; however, the role remains contingent on external funding, which is due to come to an end 12 months from commencement of contract. This is a part-time post working 0.50 fte (18.25 hours).
