This role is only available to current employees of Lancaster University.
As Marketing and Communications Officer, you will join a team of marketing, communications and recruitment professionals tasked with ensuring that Lancaster’s brand and messages resonate with our community and stakeholders. Reporting directly to the Brand Marketing Manager, you will lead on developing our sustainability messaging and campaigns, craft our brand narrative in this area, and work to evidence our commitment to sustainability in all that we do.
We are looking for an experienced marketing and communication professional who can build strong and effective working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, coordinate activity, surface compelling stories and affect behavioural change. Much of our world‑leading research is centred on supporting net zero and finding solutions to the climate crisis and we wish to be globally recognised as leaders in this field and at the forefront of best practice in sustainability.
You will bring excellent written and digital communication skills, with demonstrable experience of delivering effective marketing and communications campaigns that meet strategic objectives. You will be required to create engaging content in digital and print formats for different channels, commission and oversee others to produce content, and write clear and concise copy. You will also write written bids and submissions for our sustainability league tables and accolades, presenting statistical information using data visualisation tools.
This position is a fixed‑term role until 31 December 2026 in the first instance.
