The team has a central hub in the Library with bases in the faculties.

You will be responsible for the Maths and Stats Hub (MASH) provision for Year 1 modules in the School of Mathematical Sciences, and so should be competent in supporting student learning in all the following areas: Matrices, Calculus, Probability, Statistics, Logic, Discrete Mathematics, Symmetry, and Sequences.

You will work under the guidance of the Head of Learning Development, teaching workshops, providing one-to-one advice, working closely with both MASH colleagues and the wider Learning Development team.

Our library vision, The Library Towards 2025, sets out our ambitions to be a library that is connected, that goes beyond providing just a service and building, and works in partnership with all Lancaster University communities.

Central to this vision is the work of the Library Teaching and Engagement team, who are the interface between the faculties, departments and the library, and who engage with the wider community, developing partnerships with local schools, colleges and community groups.

We are looking to recruit an individual with a postgraduate qualification in Mathematics, a teaching qualification and/or relevant experience of teaching maths and statistics in higher education.

You will have knowledge of the maths and statistics challenges facing first year undergraduate students.

You will also be able to demonstrate evidence of working in a collegiate and supportive way with colleagues and students from a diverse range of educational and cultural backgrounds.

The University strives to be diverse and inclusive, a place where we can all be ourselves.

We welcome applications from people in all diversity groups for this part-time post, which is on a fixed term basis.
