An opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and proactive individuals to join our User Services team. Library Service Advisors work as part of a team responding to Library enquiries in person and online, and supporting students, staff, researchers, and community members both on and off-campus.

Library users are at the heart of everything we do, and these roles are critical to our success. You will become part of an enquiry team delivering front-line customer service excellence across Library opening hours and via existing and emerging communication channels. The team provides a proactive, welcoming presence to all our users and assists in maintaining and developing the Library as an outstanding study environment.

You will have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate confidently with colleagues, students, University staff and external contacts. Reliability and previous experience of team working in a customer-focused role are essential, as well as the ability to use initiative and be self-motivated.

In addition to the fixed hours, applicants may be asked to cover other shifts when needed, both during weekdays and at weekends. We are seeking to appoint to one role working Monday to Friday 11.45 to 20.00 and working one weekend every 6 or 7 weeks (taking the adjacent Friday and Monday off in lieu). This is a full time role which will be appointed at a grade 3 with the opportunity to move up to Grade 4 after successful completion of a training pathway.
