An opportunity has arisen for a Finance Assistant within the Financial Accounting Team, for a fixed term 12 month contract to cover a permanent colleague on secondment. You will be working towards the AAT qualification or hold an equivalent qualification.
You will be responsible for reconciliation of the University bank accounts in any currency. Resolution of all queries in a timely manner and accuracy are an absolute must. Other duties include a rota system with colleagues for all payments to University suppliers by either BACS for sterling payments or online banking for international payments. The duties also include receipt checking of expense claims submitted by University staff and students and helping them compile their claims if requested to do so. Ad hoc duties, in line with grading will also be expected.
You will be part of a small and friendly team within the Finance Division and will be expected to work to strict deadlines. Excellent customer service and a high degree of accuracy are also required of this role. You will need excellent organisational and communication skills, a courteous and professional manner together with an enthusiasm for working in a busy, but friendly team environment.
