Overview

Social Mobility and Student Success is looking for an enthusiastic individual with a passion for working with young people to join the team to encourage social mobility and address educational inequality. Widening Participation works with young people from across England to promote university and ensure that students make an informed decision about their future choices.

The role

The Faculty Widening Participation (WP) Officer will manage and deliver programmes that support young people underrepresented at Lancaster University. The role holder will lead the Discover Programme, a core pre-16 WP initiative, working with local secondary schools. This pre-16 programme includes in-school workshops and campus visits.

They will also manage a team of Student Ambassadors who assist with programme delivery. Additionally, you will collaborate with faculties across the University to design and deliver faculty-led content for projects supporting students from WP backgrounds.

This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) opportunity until February 2027. The role may occasionally require flexibility to work evenings or weekends, as well as travel across the North West. Applications for a 0.8 FTE appointment will also be considered.
