The successful candidate will ideally take up the appointment no later than January 2027. We are seeking an outstanding academic to strengthen the research profile of the School of Computing and Communications and contribute to the continued development of our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in areas such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science and Cyber Security.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a high-quality, internationally recognised research programme in Computer Science;
  • Publish research in leading journals and conferences;
  • Pursue external research funding opportunities;
  • Deliver excellent teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes;
  • Contribute to curriculum development through innovative, practice-oriented teaching approaches;
  • Support knowledge exchange, industry engagement, and public outreach activities;
  • Participate actively in the academic life of the department and wider University.

Qualifications

  • Hold a PhD in Computer Science or a closely related discipline and possess a strong foundation in core areas of the field;
  • Demonstrate an emerging or established record of high-quality research;
  • Experience of effective university-level teaching;
  • Commit to student engagement and academic citizenship;
  • Evidence of outreach, knowledge exchange, professional service, or wider community engagement.

German language skills are not required for this position. However, we are particularly interested in candidates who are enthusiastic about building a long-term academic career at Lancaster University Leipzig.
