Role

An opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and proactive individuals to join our User Services team. The Library Services Advisors will work as part of a team responding to Library enquiries in person and online, and supporting students, staff, researchers, and community members both on and off-campus.

Responsibilities

• Respond to Library enquiries in person and online as part of the User Services team.
• Support students, staff, researchers, and community members both on and off-campus.
• Deliver front-line customer service across Library opening hours and via existing and emerging communication channels.
• Provide a proactive, welcoming presence to all users and assist in maintaining and developing the Library as an outstanding study environment.

Qualifications and Skills

• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate confidently with colleagues, students, University staff and external contacts.
• Reliability and previous experience of working in a customer-focused role as part of a team.
• Ability to use initiative and be self-motivated.

Hours, Terms and Conditions

In addition to the fixed hours, applicants may be asked to cover other shifts when needed, both during weekdays and at weekends.

Role working: Saturday and Sunday 1.45 to 22.00

Contract: Fixed term to 31 July 2026
