Lancaster University Information Systems Services (ISS) department is looking for a Developer to join the Enterprise Operations team on a Fixed Term Contract until 30th June 2026. The ISS department is undergoing a significant digital transformation. The primary focus of the role is to develop and support functionality within the Enterprise Operations team, which currently consists of 5 full-time software developers. The team is responsible for a wide range of Software products and services including bespoke products developed in-house, customised third party Commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products, and externally managed products.

As a developer, you will undertake work packages in a range of projects in areas such as cloud migration, as well as supporting, maintaining and implementing change to existing products and services. To do this you must have experience of full stack development and working with front end and back-end technologies.

You Will Have Experience Of

  • Develop scalable C# .NET Core applications, including API development, with a focus on high performance
  • Building user interfaces using Angular or similar frameworks
  • Maintain and enhance legacy ASP.NET Web Forms applications.
  • Develop and optimise SQL databases and stored procedures
  • Contribute to technology planning and decision making
  • Design and implement system architectures and solutions.
  • Experience working within Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies
  • System integrations with internal / external systems and data sources
  • Responding to service requests and incidents
  • A degree, professional qualification or career experience in a relevant field

The role is primarily based on the Lancaster University Bailrigg campus, with flexible hybrid working options to support a positive work-life balance. We would expect a minimum of 2 days a week in the office.

For Internal University staff a secondment opportunity may be considered for this role, please ensure you have agreement from your current line manager before you apply for the opportunity.
