We are currently seeking a part‑time Food Technology Technician to join our existing team from September 2026. This role requires 21 hours per week (Monday to Wednesday only) during term time, as a job share with our current technician. The position is paid at Support Staff Grade 5, with actual hourly pay of £12,472 - £13,876 based on hours worked.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the use of practical resources and equipment for the Food Technology subject.
- Provide assistance to teachers and students in meeting the teaching and learning needs of the programme.
- Support classroom activities and maintain a safe, well‑equipped learning environment.
Qualifications and Training
Previous experience in a similar role is an advantage, but the successful applicant will receive full training. The role requires strong organisational skills, the ability to manage equipment and resources, and a commitment to professionalism and continuous improvement.
Compensation
Salary is based on Support Staff Grade 5 (currently £25,989 – £28,142 FTE pay award pending). Part‑time rates are £12,472 – £13,876.
