Overview: The following information provides an overview of the skills, qualities, and qualifications needed for this role.

Responsibilities: As Health & Safety Lead for the Construction and Engineering programme area, you will take overall responsibility for health and safety across the programme. You will work closely with the cross‑College Health & Safety team to ensure compliance with legislation, promote a strong safety culture, and maintain safe, well‑prepared workshop environments. Additionally, you will line‑manage the Instructor Technician team, providing clear leadership and supporting high‑quality delivery across practical learning areas. You will be expected to develop and review risk assessments and safe systems of work, analyse data, and prepare for audits and inspections.

Qualifications: Professional health and safety experience with a practical knowledge of construction or engineering environments is required. You should hold or be willing to work towards a Level 2 qualification, GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English, and demonstrate a commitment to achieving IOSH and NEBOSH qualifications.
