We are seeking to recruit Refuse Collectors for our Waste and Recycling Team. We are looking for reliable, enthusiastic, and self-motivated individuals to assist in waste collection within a high-profile service.
The work can be varied and interesting. It is essential that you appreciate the important contribution these services have in improving our local environment and the area\'s image. You must possess good communication skills, be able to undertake a range of duties, and be a quick learner with minimal supervision. You will work both as part of a team and independently, often in adverse weather conditions, handling waste.
Although not essential, holding a current driving licence would be an advantage. Full training will be provided. You must be physically fit and capable of heavy manual work, including refuse and recycling collection. Willingness to train and operate various vehicles and equipment is necessary.
This is a permanent position, 37 hours per week, based at White Lund Depot, Morecambe. You will cover shifts from 7:00 am to 4:45 pm, any day from Monday to Saturday, including Bank Holidays. Flexibility is required for early mornings, evenings, and weekends. Occasionally, working hours may start at 6:00 am or extend until 6:00 pm.
The successful candidate must be able to work on Bank Holidays (except Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year\'s Day), public holidays, and additional catch-up days as directed. Catch-up days for December holidays will be either the Saturday before or after the holiday, which you will be expected to work.
