Make a Difference in Lancaster. As Surveying Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, quality, and sustainability of Lancaster's Council Housing Stock. Your leadership will help maintain well-managed estates and commercial properties, directly impacting tenant satisfaction and community wellbeing. By overseeing timely and legally compliant inspections and repairs, you will contribute to a safer, healthier living environment that supports the Council's commitment to safeguarding and climate action.
What You'll Be Doing
- You will lead and manage the Surveying Team, coordinating technical inspections across housing and communal areas.
- Your responsibilities include ensuring compliance with legal and financial standards, managing procurement and budgets, and responding to complaints.
- You will work closely with contractors, consultants, and other council teams, oversee asbestos testing, and maintain accurate stock condition data.
- Your role also involves supporting estate walkabouts and promoting a customer-first approach throughout the service.

- You hold essential qualifications such as IOSH Managing Safely, HNC in Building Studies, and DEA - RdSAP, with strong technical knowledge of building construction and maintenance.
- You have experience in line management, excellent communication skills, and thrive under pressure.
