The Role

Are you pro‑active and customer‑focused with a keen eye for detail? We’re looking for a Tenant Move Coordinator to join our Council Housing team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference by supporting our tenants to access the best housing options available to them. You will play a key role in promoting the efficient use of the council housing stock, supporting tenants who wish to move, including those looking to downsize, and championing mutual exchange as a viable solution. You must demonstrate a real commitment to providing excellent customer care with a resourceful approach to problem solving.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Proactively identify tenants who are interested in downsizing and guide them through every step of the moving journey.
  • Promote and facilitate mutual exchanges as a housing option.
  • Maintain and validate applications on the online exchange system.
  • Assist tenants with property adverts and advise on standards.
  • Organise and assist with supported moves.
  • Work creatively to raise awareness of mutual exchange through social media, newsletters and other channels.
  • Undertake viewings and sign‑ups throughout the district.

What We’re Looking For

  • Knowledge of social housing and social housing properties within the Lancaster district.
  • GCSE Maths and English (Grade C or above) or equivalent.
  • Previous experience dealing with the public in a busy, customer‑focused environment.
  • Excellent IT skills, including use of Excel, databases and social media.
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive, problem‑solving attitude.
  • Ability to work flexibly, under pressure and as part of a team.
