Join us as a Senior Environmental Health Officer and become a lead officer in the Environmental Protection team in safeguarding public health and enhancing environmental quality across Lancaster. Your expertise will help ensure compliance with relevant legislation, codes of practice and guidance, and contribute to safer, healthier communities.
What You’ll Be Doing
- You will conduct and oversee inspections, investigations, and regulatory enforcement related to air quality, pollution control, private water supplies and environmental enforcement.
- Leading projects and managing team workloads, you’ll prepare technical reports, liaise with partners, and provide robust expert advice on complex cases.
- Your role is key in driving continuous improvement and delivering high standards of public service.
You’ll Fit Right In If…
- You hold a degree or diploma in Environmental Health and are registered with the CIEH or equivalent.
- With extensive experience in local authority environmental health regulation, you may already be confident managing teams and complex casework but you may be ready to step into a role where your experience and expertise can make a difference.
