Lancaster & Morecambe College are seeking a Cleaning Operative within Hospitality & Catering to support our busy learning environment by maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness across our professional-standard kitchens and catering facilities. This is a key role within our Hospitality and Catering department, helping to ensure learners train in a safe, hygienic and industry-standard setting.

You will undertake the daily cleaning required to catering specifications, working with accuracy and attention to detail to meet high standards of hygiene and food safety. The role also involves a range of associated catering-based tasks, including cleaning and maintaining specialist equipment, safe storage and disposal of materials, organising linen and laundry, and keeping cleaning and food safety records up to date.

You will work closely with tutors, colleagues and learners to create a positive and harmonious working environment, reporting any hazards, defects or concerns promptly and ensuring all health and safety requirements are met at all times.

We are looking for someone with general cleaning experience, good organisational skills and a strong eye for detail, who is reliable, adaptable and able to work on their own initiative in a fast-paced environment. A willingness to adapt to changing circumstances and to undertake relevant training, including food hygiene, is essential.
