We have a vacancy for an experienced tax professional to join as Tax Manager in the Group Accounting and Compliance Team, part of the larger Financial Services Team.
Responsibilities
- Act as the University’s primary contact for HMRC and lead the overall tax strategy and regulatory compliance.
- Scan the tax landscape to identify and mitigate risks for the University Group.
- Work directly with the University’s professional tax advisors.
- Provide internal tax advisory services and support the transition into this role.
About you
- Qualified with a professional accountancy body (ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA) or as a qualified tax professional CTA.
- Have substantial prior experience of VAT and partial exemption, ideally from education (HE), housing or the not‑for‑profit charitable sector.
- Meet all essential criteria on the person specification to be considered for interview.
