About the role

Working with the Performance Sports Manager and key sports staff, the Badminton Sports Coach will provide leadership to drive the development of a high-performance sport culture at the University. The successful candidate will be expected to take training, select the squad and oversee match day preparation and performance across the course of the season. Goals will be set in conjunction with the Performance Sport Manager. This role will require 4 hours per week; evening working and the ability to travel to fixtures with the team will be expected. Training is currently one evening per week, with fixtures at the weekend; but this may be subject to change. This position is based in Preston.

About you

It is essential that the individual is appropriately qualified with a minimum of an up-to-date Level 2 coaching award as well as having experience of coaching in a performance sport environment. The ability to influence and inspire others, set and maintain high standards and having excellent communication skills are core requirements of the post. Applicants need to meet all essential criteria on the person specification to be considered for interview.
