We are seeking a highly creative and ambitious Lecturer within the School of Art and Media with primary responsibility for teaching on our BA (Hons) Fine Art course. Duties will include working as part of the Fine Art team with cross‑year teaching responsibilities involved in all areas of course delivery, including teaching, assessment, feedback, module leadership, and workshop delivery.
The role requires delivering introductory workshops in shooting film, recording sound and editing in Premiere Pro and Logic Pro to small groups of undergraduate students, and offering intermediate and advanced support on a 1‑1 basis. Candidates should have a comprehensive working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, providing support in photography and media‑based projects, and should leverage their experience of exhibiting to help students problem‑solve and realise ambitious installations of video and audio works in various Fine Art contexts.
The successful candidate will be a highly driven, enthusiastic individual capable of delivering inclusive and inspiring teaching and collaborating with other staff. A higher education teaching experience and an undergraduate degree or equivalent in a relevant area are required. The candidate should possess in‑depth knowledge of contemporary art practice and be able to align student projects to current debates and practices, guiding students to develop an independent programme of work.
The role also involves developing industry contacts and potential employers to enhance the course’s employability, and participating in student recruitment at outreach events.
