An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the University of Lancashire’s Security team at our Preston campus. This is a rare chance to be part of the team helping to keep our community of students, staff, and visitors safe, while providing an outstanding experience. The role follows a rotating shift pattern of 2 x 12-hour days, followed by 6 rest days, with flexibility to support other shifts and campuses when required.

As a Control Room Operator, you will play a key role in supporting the safety and wellbeing of our university community. You will monitor and manage CCTV and security systems, respond to enquiries and incidents, and provide clear, helpful guidance to colleagues and campus users. Working at the heart of campus operations, you will liaise closely with officers across our sites, ensuring information is shared effectively and accurately recorded. This is a role that combines attention to detail with a calm, approachable presence, helping to create an environment where everyone feels safe, supported, and able to succeed.

The successful candidate will have a range of GCSEs, including English Language and Maths at Grade C/4 or above, or appropriate equivalent experiential learning. You will bring sound judgement, a supportive approach, and the ability to work confidently as part of a team.
