About the role

Do you want to make a difference and shape the future of midwifery education?

We are looking for an individual who will support and encourage our students to develop into confident and competent midwives as part of a creative and innovative Midwifery team.

This is a truly exciting time to join the University and the School of Nursing and Midwifery, in particular. We are No.1 in the country for Midwifery for a consecutive year (2025 NSS survey).

You will be joining a talented passionate team, committed to widening access and participation in Midwifery education. Collaboration with internal and external midwifery and research networks is encouraged.

You will contribute to the academic development, course management, teaching, research development, and scholarship within the School in the area of Midwifery. You will work closely within the midwifery team to create innovative approaches to teaching and learning to UG and PG learners, support undergraduate and postgraduate research and contribute to the wider School and University activities.

About you

The successful candidate will have sound knowledge and practical experience of teaching Midwifery in a Higher Education environment with excellent presentation and communication skills.

For this role you are required to have current NMC Registered Midwife status with significant post-registration experience, an undergraduate degree and a relevant postgraduate qualification.
