Peatland Practical Volunteer

Location: Little Woolden Moss and Astley Moss, Manchester

We are looking for volunteers to join our weekly practical teams to carry out hands-on habitat management, restoration, and site maintenance tasks at our peatland sites in Greater Manchester.

Work parties take place between 10.30am and 3.00pm:

1. Every Tuesday and various Sundays at Little Woolden Moss (WA3 5AR – W3W: tiling.gratitude.unwind)
2. Every Friday at Astley Moss (M29 7LG – W3W: variation.flicks.every)

We carry out our practical tasks on the nature reserves in all weather conditions, so you will need appropriate footwear, clothing, and outerwear as well as sunscreen and insect repellent.

No previous experience is needed, just a reasonable level of physical fitness. We provide the tools, training, and Personal Protective Equipment, and we can reimburse your travel expenses up to £8 per day.
