Exciting Opportunity for a Senior Theatre Support Worker in Emergency and Neuro Theatres! Are you a passionate and driven individual with a knack for providing exceptional patient care in high-pressure environments? We have a unique opportunity for a Senior Theatre Support Worker to join our dynamic team in Emergency and Neuro Theatres. This role will involve working alongside our skilled team of Registered Nurses and Operating Department Practitioners (ODPs) to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of care to patients undergoing surgery.

Main duties of the job:

  • Provide good quality personalised care in accordance with agreed local and national standards.
  • Assist patients to access and use toilet facilities or continence aids and achieve physical comfort.
  • Assist in the positioning of patients in theatre and in the recovery area, ensuring that pressure areas are protected adequately and that patient comfort is maintained.
  • Work within the flexibility of the theatres, including days, evenings, and weekends.
  • Undertake clinical duties relevant to the clinical area following achievement of competencies.
  • Handle and store patient specimens safely, complying with Trust policy.
  • Assist to maintain patient safety, conforming to health, safety and security legislation, policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Promote equality in care and practice by recognising, respecting and meeting the needs and choices of individuals.
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe, clean and productive care environment, compliant with standards for hygiene and cleanliness.
  • Maintain and develop own competence in accordance with Trust and local policy.
  • Communicate and document information in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Actively try to resolve issues and complaints at local level and report outcome to line manager.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience working in an Operating Theatre is a must.
  • Strong communication and team-working skills.
  • Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in a busy, demanding environment.
