Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Duties to include, but not be limited to:
- Provide good quality personalised care in accordance with agreed local and national standards
- Undertake duties relevant to the clinical area following achievement of competencies
- Assist to maintain patient safety, confirming to health, safety and security legislation, policies, procedures and guidelines
- Assist in maintaining standards of care to improve the patient experience and outcome of care
- Promote equality in care and practice by recognising, respecting and meeting the needs and choices of individuals
- Contribute to maintaining safe, clean and productive environments, compliant with standards for hygiene and cleanliness
- Actively try to resolve issues and complaints at local level and then report the outcome to line manager
- Maintain and develop own competence
- Process information according to local and national requirements

Qualifications and Education
Essential criteria
- GCSE in English and Mathematics – grade C/4 or above OR Level 2 Functional Literacy & Level 2 numeracy skills
- NVQ Level 2 Care or Equivalent (to work towards level 3 within 18 months of start date)
Desirable criteria
- Basic IT skills
- NVQ Level 3 in care
- Care Certificate
- Evidence of Continued Personal Development & Self reflection
Knowledge & Experience
Essential criteria
- Aware of the concept and application of confidentiality
- Able to demonstrate Health & Safety awareness
- Demonstrates an understanding of the role of a band 3 assistant.
- Knowledge & Understanding of Medical terminology
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook
- Experience of working with the public and customer care skills
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience working in an acute healthcare setting
- Understanding of imaging procedures
- Evidence of working at Band 2/3 in a caring environment
- Knowledge of IR terminology, treatments and interventions
- Previous experience working in a Radiology setting
