We are excited to offer an opportunity for a passionate and experienced neonatal nurse to join our dynamic and compassionate team as an Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (ANNP). This role is central to delivering high-quality, family-centred care to neonates requiring Level 2 and Level 3 support across our neonatal services.
- Working independently on the medical rota (TIER 1/TIER 2 depending on level of expertise and clinical area) to provide 24 hour care as required, with clinical supervision provided by a Consultant Neonatologist.
- Holding the emergency bleep for labour ward calls, attending at risk deliveries and carrying out basic and advanced newborn resuscitation where necessary.
- Carrying out the examination of the newborn prior to discharge, making appropriate referrals and instigating treatment when required.
- Independently prescribing medications within legal requirements.
- Utilising contact opportunities with babies and their families for health education and health promotion.
- Collaborating with other agencies in determining specific service requirements and working to improve health outcomes
- Maintaining competencies in the procedures relevant to neonates
- Coordinate, lead and manage the activities of clinical environment on a day to day basis.
- To use excellent prioritising and time management skills to meet the unpredictable and conflicting needs of the service
- To develop own managerial and administrative functions in conjunction with role developments
