Overview

Senior Occupational Therapist (Band 6) position at Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust. This is a part-time fixed-term contract (8 months) for 30 hours per week, based with the Burnley Community Mental Health Team.

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Occupational Therapist to join our team. The role will be predominantly Occupational Therapy focused, delivering specialist assessment, formulation and intervention for service users with complex occupational, functional, social or vocational needs. The post includes providing support and advice to the multidisciplinary team to ensure service users’ occupational needs are considered and met.

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist Occupational Therapy assessment, formulation and intervention for service users with complex needs.
  • Deliver an Occupational Therapy focused workload within the team.
  • Offer consultancy and support to the multidisciplinary team to ensure occupational needs are addressed.
  • Develop and contribute to service developments, including an evolving OT group-work project.
  • Participate in regular supervision and access CPD opportunities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experienced Occupational Therapist with a passion for mental health and a keen interest in Occupational Therapy
  • Strong communication skills and sound clinical reasoning
  • Solid understanding of the OT role in promoting recovery
