This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior nurse to work alongside a team of Pharmacy and Nursing colleagues to prioritise patient safety.

We are looking for an exceptional candidate who will be able to support medicines optimisation across our Trust, through staff training, policy development and incident management.

The post holder will work closely with teams and wards to ensure staff feel confident and competent in their ability to manage medicines. Together we are committed to providing high quality services and deliver safe outcomes for patient care, ensuring medicines are managed safely and effectively across our Organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure clearly defined processes for obtaining and prescribing medications are followed, aligning with Outcome 9 of the Care Quality Commission (CQC) outcomes.
  • Meet standards required by NHSLA at levels one, two, and three in Medicines Management.
  • Ensure systems and processes provide an appropriate framework for the safe administration of medicines by professional groups.
  • Manage the medicines management agenda with delegated authority from the Medicines Safety Officer and Chief Pharmacist.
  • Optimise medicines management systems within the Trust to ensure safe outcomes for patient care.

Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of services including secondary mental health care, inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health, forensic services, and community health services across Lancashire, Cumbria, and Sefton.
