An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to join the Operations and Maintenance team at Lancashire Renewables Ltd working on a 5-shift system at our Thornton facility.
The Shift EIC Technician will be responsible for the maintenance of the waste treatment facility assets and associated infrastructure, including operational monitoring of functional odour abatement systems and the SCADA system.
To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
- ONC/HNC Electrical qualification or the equivalent experience with supporting qualifications.
- Knowledge of preventative, predictive & lifecycle maintenance activities.
- Proficiency in using various computer-based systems including Microsoft Office applications.
The following skills and knowledge are desirable, however successful candidates will be supported through role-specific training and must be willing to undertake any training required for the role:
- Experience of utilising a centralised maintenance management system.
- Knowledge of waste processing plants, FMCG, chemical or industrial machinery.
- Experience driving Mobile Plant equipment specifically; MEWP.
- Qualified in confined spaces training.
- Certified in working at height training.
- Experience and knowledge of Odour abatement systems.
- Experience with SCADA operations.

Lancashire Renewables Ltd was established for the operation and management of the two waste treatment facilities built for the Lancashire Waste Contract. Our two facilities in Thornton and Leyland are manned 365 days a year. Both sites can process over 5,000 tonnes of residual (black bin bag) waste per week and divert 95% of this material away from landfill. Our aim is to achieve a sustainable future for Lancashire by providing services to process biodegradable and non-biodegradable household waste and our people are vital in helping us achieve this.
