An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to join the Operations and Maintenance team at Lancashire Renewables Ltd working on a 5-shift system at our Thornton facility.

The Shift Engineering Team Leader is key to keeping Lancashire Renewables running smoothly. This role covers a range of responsibilities across different areas of the business, so flexibility and adaptability are essential. Outside core operating hours, you'll take charge of the site and team, ensuring everything stays on track. You'll lead your team by following company policies and safety procedures, maintaining high safety standards, improving production processes, and encouraging a culture of continuous improvement.

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Proven experience in team leadership, including people management and development.
  • ONC/HNC Mechanical or Electrical qualification or the equivalent experience with supporting qualifications.
  • Recognised Health and Safety Qualification (IOSH or NEBOSH) would be highly beneficial.
  • Knowledge of processing applications and equipment within a waste treatment, chemical or manufacturing industry.
  • Ability to plan and co-ordinate work schedules.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and allocate resources effectively.
  • Ability to identify issues, analysing root causes and implementing solutions to ensure smooth running of operations.

Lancashire Renewables Ltd was established for the operation and management of the two waste treatment facilities built for the Lancashire Waste Contract. Our two facilities in Thornton and Leyland are manned 365 days a year. Both sites can process over 5,000 tonnes of residual (black bin bag) waste per week and divert 95% of this material away from landfill. Our aim is to achieve a sustainable future for Lancashire by providing services to process biodegradable and non-biodegradable household waste and our people are vital in helping us achieve this.
