Operations and Maintenance Manager
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to join the Operations and Maintenance team at Lancashire Renewables
Ltd based at our Leyland facility.
While the role will be primarily based at our Leyland site, the successful candidate will also be required to support operations
at our Thornton site for an initial period of up to two years, and on an ongoing basis as business needs arise.
What you’ll be doing
We’re looking for an experienced Operations and Maintenance Manager to lead the day-to-day management of our operations and
support the development of Supervisors and Team Leaders. In this key leadership role, you will be responsible for ensuring the
efficient and effective use of resources, optimising waste processing performance, overseeing preventative and corrective
maintenance programmes, and maintaining financial and budgetary control.
You’ll also drive the implementation of quality, safety, and environmental standards in full compliance with company policies,
procedures, and relevant legislation. As a representative of the company on regulatory matters, you will engage with external
stakeholders to uphold our commitment to operational excellence and compliance.
In addition, you will work closely with the General Manager as a strategic business partner, playing a crucial role in delivering
business objectives and supporting broader operational initiatives outlined in our Business Operating Management System.
What you will bring
To succeed in this role, you\’ll need:
* Strong people management and leadership skills, with the ability to develop and support line managers.
* A recognised Health & Safety Qualification (IOSH / NEBOSH).
* Qualification in Project Management or equivalent experience (e.g. Prince2).
* Knowledge of working within safe systems of work, Health and Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.
* Knowledge of Audit programmes and processes.
* Relevant experience in the waste processing industry or similar processing industry.
* Relevant operational or maintenance management experience.
* Experience of effectively managing and leading operational and maintenance related activities, resources, and costs.

* Education to HNC Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience with supporting qualifications.
* Certificate of Technical Competence (COTC).

Who are we?
Lancashire Renewables Ltd was established for the operation and management of the two waste treatment facilities built for the
Lancashire Waste Contract.
Our two facilities in Thornton and Leyland are manned 365 days a year. Both sites can process over 5,000 tonnes of residual
(black bin bag) waste per week and divert 95% of this material away from landfill.
Our aim is to achieve a sustainable future for Lancashire by providing services to process biodegradable and non-biodegradable
community waste and our people are vital in helping us achieve this.

Thornton, actively encouraging internal growth through development and training programmes.
