We are seeking a highly skilled insurance accountant to work within the LSL finance team supporting Syndicate accounting, reporting and projects. Reporting to the LSL Financial Controller.
Specific Responsibilities
- Assist LSL Financial Controller with finance projects (ledger migration, Syndicates merger);
- Prepare variance analysis of technical and non-technical balances with commentaries as part of the monthly close process;
- Assist with Board reporting;
- Monitoring balance sheet reconciliations including cash matching;
- Regulatory return preparation including the Solvency UK return, US Situs, Canadian reporting, TRIA, NAIC, liquidity stress testing;
- Preparation of the interim and annual Syndicate financial statements;
- Manage and resolve audit queries;
- Review processes and suggest improvements e.g. through use of reporting tools, AI etc.
Essential Skills & Requirements
- Qualified accountant with 3+ years insurance experience (either in a line role or Audit);
- Finance systems experience such as reporting tools, AI etc would be an advantage;
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills;
- Team player, proactive, organised and accountable.
