An opportunity has arisen for a caring, reliable and adaptable Personal Assistant to support a disabled woman living independently in her own home. The role is varied and rewarding, supporting the client with day-to-day living and helping her maintain her independence and wellbeing. The client is a wheelchair user who experiences chronic leg pain, mobility difficulties, and mental health challenges. As her health and wellbeing can vary from day to day, she is looking for someone who is flexible, understanding and able to adapt their support accordingly. Main Duties Include:
- Assisting the client in and out of the bath and providing support with mobility when required.
- Preparing meals and encouraging healthy eating.
- Prompting and encouraging the client to maintain personal hygiene and self-care routines.
- Supporting the client to attend medical and other appointments.
- Assisting with diary management, appointments and household correspondence.
- Collecting prescriptions and supporting medication ordering.
- Helping with laundry and other light household tasks.
- Encouraging and supporting the client to access the local community and maintain social engagement.
- Providing practical and emotional support during periods when the client is experiencing low mood or reduced motivation.
