We are seeking an active, friendly, kind, honest, and reliable support worker to assist a 16 year old teenager boy with autism, ADHD, and Developmental Language Disorder (DLD). The ideal candidate will have experience and qualifications working with children with autism and a good understanding of neurodiverse needs. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about helping young people grow in confidence and independence while ensuring their safety and wellbeing.

Duties will include:

  • Prompting and encouraging personal care, and dressing appropriately for the weather or occasion.
  • Encouraging and teaching life skills, such as making meals, drinks, and using household equipment such as washing machine.
  • Accompanying him safely in the community, as he has no road safety awareness.
  • Supporting and encouraging him to attend activities, and autism-friendly cinema screenings.
  • Engaging with him in hobbies such as gaming, Star Wars, and superhero discussions.
  • Taking him to the Barbers every month.
  • Offering listening, and reassurance.

We are looking for a caring, proactive and motivated individual with a passion for supporting others. Experience and qualifications in supporting children with autism is essential. The client loves to talk so it is essential you love to listen.

This is a part time position for 6 hours per week term time and 10 hours per week non term time with an hourly rate of Β£16 plus 5.6 weeks paid annual leave and workplace pension scheme. This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check the cost of which will be covered.
