A wonderful opportunity has arisen for a Personal Assistant to provide support to a 15-year-old boy with autism within his own home and within the local community.

He is a unique, complex, wonderfully friendly, and loving child. He is naturally inquisitive about people, behaviours, and communication. He forms strong bonds with individuals he trusts.

As a Personal Assistant, your duties will include supporting with all aspects of socialising, including domestic support and friendship. Duties will include spending time with our special child at home, he loves his role playing/re-enacting his school day activities, some baking, going a bike ride and swimming. He has a dog phobia, so some outdoor activities may be restricted.

We are looking for a caring, gentle-natured, proactive and motivated individual with a passion for supporting others, ideally with experience or knowledge of Autism and anxiety.

Previous experience is desirable but not essential, but a positive attitude and good work ethic are essential. You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a sense of fun. A driver with a full, clean license is required with your vehicle or eligible to drive a Motability car.

This is a part-time position for around 5 hours per week and would suit someone looking to top up their weekly earnings.
