Overview

Working Times: Daytime hours - weekdays or weekends (flexible by agreement).

We are seeking a calm, reliable, and understanding Personal Assistant to support a quiet and considerate young man who is socially vulnerable and has Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This role focuses on promoting independence, confidence, and social development in a supportive and respectful manner. The Personal Assistant will provide one-to-one support to help develop daily living and social skills, both at home and in the community.

Responsibilities

  • Promoting independence and confidence
  • Supporting the development of social skills and social connections
  • Assisting with daily living tasks, including:
  • Menu planning
  • Food shopping
  • Developing cooking skills
  • Supporting with travelling in the community
  • Accompanying and supporting attendance at social and community activities
  • Providing encouragement in a calm, patient, and respectful way
  • Understanding the challenges of living with ASD is essential. A patient, quiet, and considerate approach is required. The candidate should be reliable, trustworthy, and flexible, able to encourage independence while offering appropriate support. Own transport is not essential.

    Qualifications / Requirements

    • Enhanced DBS check essential
    • References will be required
    • Experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential
