The Business Value Partner acts as the principal technical and governance authority for low-code and no-code platforms across the Lancashire Group, ensuring that solutions deliver tangible business value, support strategic objectives, and drive innovation throughout the organisation. This role is central to overseeing and guiding the use of these platforms within the organisation’s global specialty insurance and reinsurance operations across the UK, Bermuda, the United States and Australia.
This position will be responsible for establishing and managing the governance framework, standards, and operating model for low/no-code development, ensuring all solutions are secure, compliant, scalable, and aligned with Lancashire’s technology strategy. The role will offer hands-on expertise in selected platforms, guide business stakeholders from concept through to delivery, and oversee external delivery partners as needed. This is a highly collaborative role that requires strong engagement with business stakeholders, technology teams, and third-party service providers. It is both strategic and hands-on, ensuring safe and effective adoption of low/no-code capabilities across all Group entities.
Specific Responsibilities- Act as the primary technical authority for Lancashire’s low-code and no-code platforms, including AirTable, Microsoft Power Apps, and associated integration tools such as make.com.
- Stay abreast of current and emerging low/no-code technologies, evaluating and recommending the most appropriate solutions for business needs.
- Develop and maintain platform roadmaps, setting technical standards and managing the lifecycle of low/no-code solutions.
- Establish and uphold a robust yet streamlined governance framework for low/no-code development across the Group, ensuring compliance with IT security, data protection, architecture, and operational risk controls.
- Ensure all low/no-code solutions comply with relevant regulatory requirements, including those from Lloyd’s, the UK FCA, and the Bermuda Monetary Authority.
- Monitor and guide citizen developer activities to maintain safe, consistent, and compliant practices throughout the organisation.
- Engage with business stakeholders to fully understand their objectives, processes, and solution requirements.
- Provide expert advice on solution design, platform selection, scalability, integration, and risk management.
- Translate business requirements into practical, deliverable options that balance value, technical suitability, and governance standards.
- Lead the design and hands-on development of lightweight applications, workflows, integrations, and automations where direct technical input is needed.
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, configuration guides, and user support materials.
- Oversee and manage external partners engaged in the development and support of low/no-code platforms, ensuring alignment with Lancashire’s quality, security, and compliance standards.
- Coordinate and prioritise backlogs, managing delivery pipelines across both internal and external resources.
- Produce regular management reports detailing platform usage, adoption, performance, compliance, and the value delivered to the business.
- Identify and drive opportunities for optimisation, consolidation, and enhanced controls across the low/no-code environment.
- Monitor industry trends and proactively propose enhancements to tools, governance practices, and platform capabilities.
- Proven leadership in guiding teams and external partners in the adoption and optimisation of low/no-code platforms such as AirTable and Microsoft Power Apps.
- Expertise in developing and overseeing governance frameworks for digital solutions, ensuring alignment with organisational standards and regulatory requirements.
- Strong track record of managing platform security, compliance, and risk, with deep knowledge of data protection and regulatory obligations.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, adept at translating business needs into technical strategies and communicating complex concepts with clarity.
- Experienced in leading delivery within matrix environments, fostering collaboration across internal teams and third-party partners.
- Ability to create and maintain comprehensive documentation, standards, and management reporting to support informed decision-making.
- Background in the insurance or financial services sector, bringing industry-specific insight to digital transformation initiatives.
- Familiarity with operational resilience and audit requirements, ensuring robust controls in regulated environments.
