Analyst (Credit and Political Risk)

Description

Purpose
The primary purpose of the role is to provide analytical support to Underwriters of Lancashire’s Credit & Political Risk book of business. The role will allow for the development of knowledge and expertise in order for the successful applicant to actively contribute to Lancashire’s products and capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data analysis and generation of regular reports as well as ad hoc projects when required
  • Portfolio review and monitoring
  • In depth analysis of individual transactions
  • Analysis of financial statements, cash flows, production volumes and financial models
  • Collaboration with actuaries to enhance existing models and build pricing models for sub classes
  • Collaboration with Underwriters in order to obtain required information for underwriting decisions
  • Produce reports to aide underwriting decisions
  • Engage with external brokers and clients on an ad hoc basis

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Successful completion of Undergraduate Degree
  • Completed CFA or equivalent qualification
  • Sound experience
  • Proficient in financial analysis for corporates, financial institutions and project finance
  • Interest in world affairs, politics, economics, international trade and investment
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • Excellent attention to detail, self-discipline, and time management
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg terminal
  • Willingness to work flexibly to meet business needs including additional hours if necessary
