Unit Catering Supervisor | Part Time | Charles Saer Primary School | Fleetwood, Lancashire

Salary: £25,185 – £25,989 per annum. Permanent, part time – 28.75 hours per week.

Unit Catering Supervisor (Grade 4) – Lancashire County Council provides catering services to over 500 schools across Lancashire, serving over 60,000 school meals per day. We are looking for a committed individual to join the service.

You will work as head of the team in Charles Saer Primary School, providing high quality, healthy, balanced meals for school children.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cook and serve food and beverages in accordance with agreed menus and production plans.
  • Direct and/or supervise other employees.
  • Order supplies and manage deliveries.
  • Maintain records and stock control.
  • Maintain agreed standards and associated documentation in relation to food and kitchen hygiene.
  • Conduct LCC catering inductions to new members of catering teams.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience of large‑scale catering.
  • Excellent customer service experience.
  • Knowledge of food service and supervisory skills.
  • Recognised supervisor or team leader qualification desirable.
  • Flexibility with start and finish times to support different unit services.
  • Good knowledge of up‑to‑date allergen laws.

Working Hours / Days

  • Monday to Friday.
  • Term time only.
  • Pay is pro‑rata; advertised wage is for full‑time equivalent.

28.75 hours per week, equaling 5.75 hours per day, although hours are variable depending upon school meal uptake.
