Carleton Green Community Primary School is looking for a BSL Learning Support Assistant to provide support for a hearing-impaired pupil in our Reception Class. The ideal candidate must be proficient in British Sign Language and demonstrate a proven track record of successfully dealing with children in a school setting.

The hours of work will be 10 hours per week, from 1 – 3pm Monday – Friday.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is patient, sensitive, calm and nurturing and has a good sense of humour
  • Has the ability to think "outside the box" and use their imagination
  • Has good communication skills and can work effectively as part of a team
  • Has strong behaviour skills
  • Is empathetic and passionate about supporting SEND children

The successful applicant's appointment will be subject to satisfactory clearance by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). Rehabilitation of offenders Act details of any criminal record spent or unspent should be sent to the Chair of Governors at the school address by the closing date.

This position is fixed term, term time only until July 2026. Please note that the salary quoted is full-time equivalent. If successful, the salary received will be paid on a pro-rata basis.
