The Governing Board at Bacup Nursery School is looking to appoint a very hard‑working and enthusiastic teaching assistant for our Outstanding Nursery School.

Responsibilities
  • Excellent organisational and time‑keeping skills.
  • Sound understanding of the EYFS.
  • Hard‑working and committed to ensuring high standards and excellent practice in Early Years Education.
  • Creative and inspiring.
  • Demonstrate a high standard of planning for progression, delivery of teaching and assessment of children’s learning.

This is a temporary contract from 1 September 2026 to 20 July 2027. Hours of work: Monday – Friday 8.30am – 12.30pm. Position is Grade 4, 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term‑time only. Salary will be on a pro‑rata basis.

Qualifications
  • Essential Qualifications: NVQ Level 2 or above or equivalent. Maths GCSE or equivalent. English GCSE or equivalent.
  • Desirable Qualifications: Paediatric First Aid.
Experience
  • Essential Experience: Knowledge of the EYFS. Understanding of teamwork. Ability to plan for progression.
  • Desirable Experience: Experience of working with young children in a school setting.
