Salary: £36,363 – £46,142 per annum | Contract: Permanent, Full Time (37 hours per week)

Location: Adoption Lancashire Blackpool (ALB), hosted by Lancashire County Council (LCC)

Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Social Worker in the Adoption Support Team at Adoption Lancashire Blackpool. Join a team committed to enhancing the lives of adoptive children, their families, and adopted adults. As a Social Worker you will significantly impact the future of adoption and drive innovation within the field.

The post is advertised as grade 8/9, with potential appointment as a senior social worker practitioner based on experience, knowledge and skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to families affected by adoption across Lancashire and Blackpool, including birth families and adopted adults.
  • Deliver training workshops, social events and one‑to‑one support to children and their families.
  • Support adopted adults in understanding their early life history.
  • Host peer groups, specialist workshops and develop a peer buddying and mentoring offer within the Adoption Communities.
  • Promote and co‑deliver therapeutic services with families.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Registered with Social Work England.
  • Must pass a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) disclosure.
  • Must provide a car for use in the duties of this post and be insured for business use (consideration for those who cannot drive due to disability).
  • Experience in child protection or adoption services is desirable.
