About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Social Worker to join our established Family Safeguarding Teams in Lancaster. The role involves working within a multidisciplinary team that includes domestic abuse officers, child and family practitioners, and mental health specialists to deliver intervention to children and their families. The team operates on a Motivational Interviewing approach and focuses on keeping families together and achieving better outcomes through collaborative engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver and support multi‑agency interventions for children and families.
  • Engage clients in a collaborative way to facilitate safer and more supportive home environments.
  • Maintain accurate records, case notes and evidence for child protection and child in need work.
  • Participate in training, recall days and professional development as part of the Social Work Academy.
  • Provide leadership and support to peers and junior social workers where required.

Qualifications

  • Registered with Social Work England and eligible to be appointed as a Social Worker.
  • Ability to provide a vehicle for official use and maintain business–use insurance.
  • Experience or willingness to work in a fast–paced environment delivering safeguarding interventions.
