We’re excited to offer a full‑time, permanent Social Worker position (Grade 8) within our dedicated Family Finding Team. Since April 2020, Blackpool Council and Lancashire County Council have joined to form our Regional Adoption Agency (RAA): Adoption Lancashire and Blackpool. Hosted by Lancashire County Council, we provide a full range of adoption services to families across the region.
Responsibilities
- Recruiting and assessing adopters
- Offering adoption support
- Contributing to adoption panels
- Family finding and matching children with their future families
Qualifications
To be appointed as a Social Worker, you must be registered with Social Work England (SWE) or have applied for registration. You’ll also need access to a car for work purposes that is insured for business use. If you are unable to drive due to a disability, please let us know – we may still consider your application. The post is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975, so you will need to apply for a DBS disclosure if successful.
