Job Overview

Shared Lives Officer – Grade 9 – Full time/Permanent position, based at Venice Avenue, Burnley. Salary £40,777 - £46,142 per annum; 37 hours per week. The shared lives service is CQC registered and rated as Outstanding. It provides a unique care model where adults with learning disability, difficulty or other vulnerability live with a family carer in a shared family home.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team responsible for monitoring placements.
  • Ensure individuals in the scheme are well supported and carers provide effective care that meets CQC requirements.
  • Lead and motivate the team, working with minimal supervision.
  • Provide advice and guidance to Shared Lives Officers across all areas of their role.
  • Participate in the assessment process of new carers and deliver training within the scheme.
  • Champion values such as dignity, respect, choice, control and positive risk taking.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Leadership experience, ideally in the care sector.
  • Problem‑solving abilities.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Passion for working with vulnerable people.
  • Ability to motivate and influence others through collaborative working.
