Summary: Following a review of SEND provision, we are seeking a committed and skilled Specialist SEND HLTA to support pupils with cognition and learning needs, mainly in Key Stage 2. This is an exciting opportunity to help establish a new provision, including a calm learning space and a dedicated, adapted curriculum focused on English, Maths and PSHE. Pupils accessing this provision may be working below age‑related expectations and require tailored support linked to EHCPs or specialist advice.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver small group support in a calm, structured environment each morning
- Adapt English and Maths learning to meet individual needs
- Support delivery of a personalised PSHE curriculum
- Work closely with class teachers to ensure continuity of learning
- Support pupils to successfully reintegrate into class in the afternoons
Essential Qualifications
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND, particularly cognition and learning needs
- A strong understanding of curriculum adaptation in English and Maths
- Calm, patient and committed to inclusive practice
- An open‑minded, flexible, can‑do attitude
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff and external professionals
Desirable Qualifications
- First Aid Qualification
Position is part time, term time only; salary quoted is full‑time equivalent but will be paid on a pro‑rata basis.
