Join our team as a School Transport Liaison Officer and help ensure children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) receive safe and effective home-to-school transport. As a School Transport Liaison Officer, you will act as the primary point of contact for families once a transport application has been approved. You will build strong, supportive relationships with parents and carers, developing a clear understanding of each child’s individual travel needs. This position is advertised as full time but we may consider part time/job share.

Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with colleagues and external partners to assess eligibility and facilitate safe, cost-effective arrangements.
  • Liaising with the Safer Travel Team to ensure all risk assessments are accurately reflected in the transport provision.
  • Promoting Independent Travel Training to help young people gain confidence and independence.
  • Maintain accurate records and identify recurring issues to contribute to service improvements.

Our ideal applicant will have:

  • Excellent listening and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex information clearly with empathy to parents and carers.
  • Great relationship building and customer service skills.
  • Confidence to use digital IT Systems to manage and maintain records.

We’ll provide full training on our specialist systems.
